566 awardees from first-year to third-year levels were awarded medals for their exemplary Academic Year 2024-2025 performance during Central Philippines State University (CPSU)-Main Campus’ 79th Recognition Day.
291 first-year awardees, 116 second-year awardees, and 159 third-year awardees from programs across seven Main Campus colleges graced the stage, accompanied by their parents and guardians.
Featuring the theme “Inspiring Tomorrow by Celebrating Today’s Success,” the university’s 79th Recognition Day was held today, June 5, 2025, at the newly renovated and improved Clemente Sports Complex.
Moreover, certificates of recognition were conferred to exemplary co-curricular awardees who manifested excellence in Journalism; Culture & Sports; Athletic Sports; and Leadership, who engaged in internal and external campus co-curricular endeavors to exhibit top-notch competence and bring honor to the university.
In addition, fourth-year students with excellent thesis and research work that contributed to the advancement of the field of research and the academe were also commended.
Furthermore, graduands with remarkable On-the-Job Training, Teaching Internship, and Teaching Demonstration performances were honored for making an impact in the Philippine workforce as the embodiment of excellent Cenphilian education and training.
Negros Oriental State University (NORSU)-Guilhungan Campus’ Planning and Development Officer, Dr. Eden Grace Villafuerte-Tabanao, augmented the momentous ceremony by sharing her testimony and experiences as a newcomer to the workforce after graduating from her alma mater, CPSU—providing substantial bits of wisdom for the aspiring professionals in attendance.
“I didn’t know what the future held for me, particularly after finishing my degree. But I learned this: that while we may be unable to control the future, we can always control the present. And it is our present actions, discipline, honesty, and determination that will shape the life we’ll live tomorrow,” said Dr. Villafuerte-Tabanao.
CPSU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, warmly greeted the awardees, their families, and guardians in his welcoming address, conveying words of commendation and imparting a profound adage: “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
Former CPSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fernando D. Abello, also graced the event with his presence and congratulated the attendees, including the supportive families and guardians of the awardees who strode side-by-side with the students in the pursuit of their degrees and dreams; his service and contribution to the growth of the institution was also commemorated through a plaque of appreciation.
With the active support of University President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca and key officials, the organization of the event was spearheaded by the Office of Student Services and Affairs (OSSA) and OSSA Dean, Dr. Aubrey Ginelle P. Rallos, with the program committee, headed by the College of Teacher Education Dean, Dr. Merfe C. Hucalinas, and the working committee composed of COTED faculty and various administrative offices.
