Regional Director Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, REE, CESO III, of the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XVIII โ€“ Negros Island Region (CHEDRO-NIR), delivered the keynote message at the culminating activity of the Central Philippines State University (CPSU)-Wide Mid-Year Faculty Convention 2026.

Featuring the theme โ€œOne CPSU, One Quality Standard: Advancing Future-Ready Curricula Through Faculty Excellence,โ€ the five-day hybrid undertaking culminated in the awarding ceremony that recognized 135 outstanding teaching effectiveness exemplars for the first semester of Academic Year 2025-2026, held at Hotel Del Sur, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Dr. Jose Leonardo L. Degillo, Education Supervisor II of the CHEDRO-NIR, enriched the curriculum review and training workshop that was conducted virtually last June 2, while Dr. Ferdinand Bulusan, Director for Extension and Training Services of the Isabela State University, shared his expertise in an in-person training workshop conducted on June 3 to 4.

The theme served as a strategic roadmap for CPSU as it navigates the complexities of the 2026 academic landscape and emphasized the necessity of institutional synergy, asserting that the universityโ€™s strength lies in a unified pursuit of excellence across all campuses.

This yearโ€™s annual convention aimed to establish a single high-level quality standard, ensuring that every student, regardless of their program or location, receives consistent, high-quality educational experiences that align with international benchmarks and regional needs.

The convention rationale also emphasizes the future-ready curricula, which are also at the heart of its theme, highlighting the focus on integrating digital literacy, sustainable practices, and adaptive learning methodologies into the academic framework to produce graduates who are not just degree-holders but resilient innovators who can thrive in a globalized workforce that demands both technical proficiency and critical thinking.

Joined by the regular members of CPSUโ€™s teaching workforce, the convention is a testament to the recognition of the teaching forceโ€™s role as the primary engine of transformative education, hence emphasizing โ€œfaculty excellence.โ€

In a written statement, Dr. Mary Grace Noreen P. Leduna-Jaranilla, Training Services Office Director, expressed, โ€œThis convention emphasizes that the pursuit of โ€˜One Quality Standardโ€™ is a collective responsibility rooted in continuous upskilling, research productivity, and a passion for mentorship. By empowering educators to excel, the university ensures that its vision of progress is translated into tangible classroom success, securing a sustainable future for the entire CPSU community.โ€

The CPSU-Wide Mid-Year Faculty Convention 2026 was collaboratively organized by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, headed by Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, Offices of the Training Services, headed by Director Dr. Leduna-Jaranilla, and the Curriculum, Planning, and Development, headed by Director Dr. Pilipinas Ma. D. Jareรฑo.
