Seven distinctions awarded by CHED-NIR to CPSU at the Regional Quality Awards 2026

Seven (7) awards were conferred upon the Commission on Higher Education – Negros Island Region (CHED-NIR) to Central Philippines State University (CPSU) during the Second Regional Quality Awards, recognizing the university’s outstanding contributions among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the region.

 CPSU received the following recognitions:

  • Outstanding Board Performance for the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (Elementary Level)
  • Model Implementer Award for Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs)
  • Award for Excellence in Research
  • Award for Excellence in Indigenous Peoples’ (IP) Studies/Education
  • World Ranking Recognition – The World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI)
  • Award for Excellence in Internationalization

 Led by University President Aladino C. Moraca, the CPSU delegation—composed of key university officials, campus administrators, directors, and college deans—received the plaques and certificates in recognition of the university’s contributions in instruction, research, community extension, and other essential areas.

 The awarding ceremony was held at STI West Negros University in Bacolod City on May 26, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 32nd Founding Anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education and the 6th National Higher Education Day, with the theme: “ACHIEVE-ing Knowledge Economy Together for a Future-Ready Bagong Pilipinas.”
