The Visayan Heritage Month was celebrated, and the newly licensed alumni professionals were recognized during Central Philippines State University’s (CPSU) third monthly convocation for Second Semester, Academic Year 2025–2026.
Featuring the theme “Preservation: Protection and Promotion of Visayan Heritage,” the convocation’s resource speaker, Historical and Cultural Heritage Center Director Dr. Jose Gay D. CPSU, through its Review for Licensure Examinations Office, conferred certificates of recognition to the Cenphilian passers of the 2025 licensure examinations for agricultural and biosystems engineers, professional teachers, foresters, and agriculturists.
CPSU has achieved the following institutional percentage in the most recent Professional Regulation Commission-administered examinations: 54.29% for the Licensure Examination for Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers; 57.14% for the Agriculturist Licensure Examination; 59.52% for Registered Professional Foresters; and 79.81% for Bachelor of Elementary Education and 80.36% for Bachelor of Secondary Education in the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers.
Joining the Main Campus passers, 72-year-old newly licensed agriculturist Mr. Diosdado Evangelista of CPSU–Candoni Campus marched in the convocation’s red carpet and was awarded a certificate of recognition for passing the Agriculturist Licensure Examination and for inspiring the CPSU community and beyond for his story of diligence, perseverance, and resilience.
In his opening remarks, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Grenny I. Jungco welcomed the attendees; he acknowledged the importance of heritage in nation building and actively challenged university stakeholders to participate in safeguarding the Visayan heritage and sharing it with the world.
The new volunteers of CPSU’s Fire Brigade Organization and the new members of recognized fraternities and sororities also took their oath during the ceremony, while their organizations received certificates of recognition for their civic contributions to the community.
In addition, Cenphilians who represented the university in international programs—namely, its participation in the 6th International Summer Course Program 2025 in Malang, Indonesia, and the first Academic, Cultural Immersion, and Research Collaboration Program at Phranakhon Rajabhat University (PNRU), Thailand—were also recognized.
The third monthly convocation was sponsored by the Supreme Student Government with SSG adviser, Ma’am Donabel Jane T. Tan, and with the cooperation of the Office of Student Services and Affairs, headed by OSSA Director Dr. Aubrey Ginelle P. Rallos.
