The “Innovate and Protect: A Comprehensive Workshop on Intellectual Property” successfully concluded this November 15 at Zaycoland Resort & Hotel, Kabankalan City, with attendees from Central Philippines State University (CPSU) faculty and staff.
The Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO) led by Director, Ms. Marie Dame Earl E. Waldato, organized the four-day workshop that took place last November 12-15 and was designed to further capacitate participants with relevant and significant knowledge and skills necessary for bolstering innovation and protecting intellectual assets.
Subject matter experts, Mr. Lloyd D. Esparagoza, Mr. Frenz Rian G. Gal, and Engr. Naci John Trance, shared their expertise in guiding participants in various lectures and training workshops on Intellectual Property Awareness, Patent Search, Invention Spotting, and Patent Drafting.
Participating faculty and staff from CPSU campuses and extension classes also showcased their corresponding outputs from the training workshops conducted by the researchers.
With the cooperation of and funding by the Research and Development Services (RDS) headed by Director, Dr. Angelie Rose L. Lumba, and the Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO) headed by Dr. Jimmy O. Degillo, the workshop also aimed to help Cenphilians not only be more engaged in steering the university to a more technology-driven and multidisciplinary direction but also more well-informed of the patent law to protect their intellectual properties.
Through his presence and inspirational message in the IPMO workshop’s opening program, SUC President II, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, led the university officials in attendance in conveying their shared support in the creation and protection of the university personnel’s intellectual assets.
