Jan 15, 2026 | News

The 1st Pinning Ceremony of the Society of Agriculture Students marked the beginning of the interns’ journey as they formally received their internship pins.

The ceremony, themed “Seeds of Hope: Society of Agriculture Students First Pinning Ceremony” for the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) program, was organized by the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) and held at the Clemente Sports Complex on January 9.

Mr. Patrick C. Sta. Romana, Chief of the Planning and Monitoring Division of the Department of Agriculture–Negros Island Region, graced the event as guest speaker and shared an inspirational message.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Grenny I. Jungco set the solemn tone with his welcoming remarks; BSA Program Head Dr. Maryvic P. Pedrosa explained the rationale and significance of the first pinning ceremony; while CAF Dean Dr. Hanzel L. Pedrosa imparted words of wisdom as the interns' pointers in joining their respective workplaces in his closing remarks.

Parents of the BSA interns joined their children on stage as the students wore their internship pins for the first time; the interns then offered a song presentation as a tribute to their parents and guardians.

The Pledge of Oath and the Message of Gratitude were led by SAS officers Ms. Mariel S. Villanueva and Ms. Chairyl Joe L. Motin, respectively.
