The Commencement Exercises Series of Central Philippines State University (CPSU) for the Academic Year 2025-2026 marked the culmination of 3,853 Cenphilian baccalaureate journeys, setting them out as empowered Filipino citizens ready to make their marks and impact in the world.
The Commencement Series 2026 has been a chapter overflowing with narratives from all walks of lifeโnarratives of resilience amidst poverty, triumphs in oneโs own life timeline, unconditional love that kindles light through the lowest, and faith in the Almighty God who holds everything in His handsโall wrapped into one chapter of our shared Cenphilian history.
CPSU Main Campus ended the series on a high, resounding note as a total of 1,356 graduates finished strong in the 1st and 2nd leg of the ceremony held in the morning and afternoon of May 27, 2026, celebrating the exemplary academic performances of 3 Summa Cum Laude, 132 Magna Cum Laude, 23 Cum Laude, and 2 Special Awards recipients.
Highest Academic Distinction Awardee Ms. Andrea Tabacolde, from the Forestry Department of the College of Arts and Forestry (CAF), stood before her fellow graduates: โTo the Class of 2026: may we become the people we once prayed to be. This is not yet the finale, but the start of the life we have been preparing for. May we soon receive the licenses we have long prayed for and step into the world as professionals who are not only competent but also grounded in integrity, respect, and good character. And as we move forward into success and, hopefully, financial abundance, may we never look down on anyone. Let us always keep our feet firmly on the ground and remain humble, because everything we have can be given and taken away by God in an instant. As we rise in status and success, may we rise even more in character, kindness, and humility.โ
CPSU, through its Review and Licensure Examination Office (RLEO), conferred a Php 50,000.00 cash incentive to Mr. Mark Lourenz E. Erio, a Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) graduate from the Main Campus, for ranking 9th in the Secondary Level of the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and as a legacy of excellence of the university and its quality higher education services.
Department of Science and Technology โ Negros Island Region (DOST-NIR) โ Regional Director and CPSU Board of Regents Member, Hon. Naomi Cossette R. Luis evoked introspection and profound insights for the graduates in facing the real world of employment and the rapid changes in the times brought by technology in her commencement speech.
Department of Agriculture โ Regional Office Negros Island Region Regional Executive Director and CPSU Board of Regents Member Hon. Jose Albert A. Barrogo reminded graduates that commencement marks not the end of their journey but the beginning of a new chapter in which they carry not only their diplomas but also the hopes and aspirations of their families, communities, and the nation.
Negros Occidental Sixth District Representative Hon. Congresswoman Mercedes "Cheding" K. Alvarez also joined the ceremony by challenging the graduates with timeless wisdom on loving parents deeply in her inspirational speech.
As the university formally concluded AY 2025-2026, sending forth 3,853 Cenphilian graduates molded with diligent, genuine, and selfless service by their alma mater beyond the university gates into new fields of service and professions and into the world, each graduate carries the CPSU communityโs pride and faith in the future that they will create.
