The visits of the Professional Regulation Commission–Professional Regulatory Board of Agriculture (PRC-PRB-AGR) and the Professional Regulatory Board of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (PRB-ABE), along with the on-site evaluation and inspection conducted by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office XVIII–Negros Island Region (CHEDRO-NIR) at Central Philippines State University (CPSU), concluded on a productive note.
PRC-PRB-AGR Chairperson Hon. Emma K. Sales and Member Hon. Annabelle S. Sarabia, together with PRC Representative Ms. Salome Preciosa G. Daymoto, and PRB-ABE members, Engr. Sherwin O. Valdez and Engr. Caesar Joventino M. Tado conducted the visits and met with representatives from the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) and the College of Engineering (COE), respectively.
The CHEDRO-NIR team was headed by Director IV Dr. Raul C. Alvarez, Jr., REE, CESO III, alongside Chief Education Program Specialist Dr. Danebeth Glomo-Narzoles, Supervising Administrative Officer Dr. Paulo C. Cabanero, Education Supervisors Dr. Louie U. Callora, Dr. Jose Leonardo S. Degillo, Dr. Raffy C. Alayon, and Dr. Benrie James B. Nufable, as well as Education Program Specialist Mr. Christian O. Cordero.
CPSU President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca led the CPSU teams from the Cauayan Campus and the Main Campus colleges whose programs were subjected to the on-site evaluation and inspection.
Dr. Germa T. Borres (CPSU-Cauayan), Dr. Hanzel L. Pedrosa (CAF), Prof. Marfy M. Cabayao (College of Arts and Sciences), Ms. Sheila A. Ignacio (College of Hospitality Management), Engr. Janet P. Serisola (COE), and Dr. Merfe C. Hucalinas (College of Teacher Education) headed their respective teams together with the program heads of the evaluated programs.
Apart from the discussions with the CPSU team to explore opportunities for further supporting the increasing trend in CPSU’s Agriculturist Licensure Examination and Licensure Examination for Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers results, the PRC-PRB-AGR and PRB-ABE teams visited the learning facilities at the CPSU Main Campus, which serve as laboratories for fostering student expertise in Agriculture and in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.
Meanwhile, the CPSU team engaged in small group discussions with CHEDRO-NIR program experts, presenting supporting documents that demonstrate the university’s capacity to provide quality higher education and its qualifications for maintaining the CHED-issued Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) for the programs under evaluation.
On behalf of the CPSU team, President Moraca expressed gratitude to the PRC-PRB-AGR, PRB-ABE, and CHEDRO-NIR experts, whose insights provided the university with substantial guidance on what to integrate, improve, and sustain to foster growth in institutional performance and enhance the learning experiences of its students.
The visit and on-site evaluation and inspection were held at the Accreditation Center of CPSU - Main Campus last January 13.
