The Eulogio โAmangโ Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST) in Sampaloc, Manila, conducted a best practice referencing activity at the Central Philippines State University (CPSU) โ Main Campus.
The EARIST delegation, composed of esteemed faculty from its College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM), namely, Dr. Maria Rhoda D. Dinaga, the CHTM Dean; Prof. Tenie P. Lirazan, the CHTM Extension Services Program Head; and Prof. Elmer B. Quintana, CHTM Faculty Member, visited CPSU last October 10.
The EARIST delegation cited the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) recognition and practices, extension program implementation and strategies, and the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) program as the focus areas for the activityโs discussion.
Dr. Joe-an Mae G. Escober, CPSUโs International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) Director, elucidated the universityโs WURI campaign history and showcased the different community-impact-driven programs of the university, which are designed for replication by its grassroots beneficiaries to address hunger and poverty.
Dr. Jimmy O. Degillo, Extension and Community Services Office (ECSO) Director, elaborated on the officeโs accomplishments for the year 2024 and highlighted the significance of target setting and formation of solid partnerships in the attainment of CPSUโs extension initiatives.
Maโam Sheila A. Ignacio, CPSUโs College of Hospitality Management (CHM) Dean, presented how the college overcame the challenges in the delivery of its extension servicesโfrom sharing its faculty membersโ food industry skills in far-flung communities amidst the global health crisis to its continued support for various groups and sectors at present.
Kabankalan Catholic College (KCC) President Rev. Fr. Richard L. Lachica and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Milagros Aurea A. Sabidalas joined the EARIST delegation as the teams engaged in the open forum and raised queries in relation to the benchmarking focus areas.
Messages were also given by Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, Dr. Dinaga, and Dr. Degillo, sharing the common focus on the significance of collaboration and the hope of continuous partnership among the participating Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
