The Ka-Peace-Tahan Peace Fair ended successfully, with participation from local dignitaries, foreign guests, and Cenphilians who joined various activities promoting peace at Central Philippines State University (CPSU) – Main Campus.
Organized in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), Ka-Peace-Tahan 2025 was celebrated in line with the National Peace Consciousness Month, featuring the theme: “Mapayapang Bukas, Abot Kamay sa Bagong Pilipinas.”
OPAPRU representatives, local dignitaries, and CPSU key officials led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to mark the commencement of the three-day fair, held from September 16 to 18, 2025.
Japanese visitors from Niigata Agro-Food University also enjoyed trade fair products from various local entrepreneurial and artisanal associations and establishments that gathered at the event to showcase their home-grown and handmade products, which epitomize Negrense creativity, artisanship, and resourcefulness—reflecting the everyday life and culture of the locals.
Participating associations and establishments included the Kabankalan Showroom, CPSU Production and Enterprise Development Office (PEDO) Bagsakan Center, Oringao Garments Workers & Producers Association, Camugao Organic Growers Association, Daan Banua SLP Vendors Association, Balicotoc Farmers’ Association, Brgy. 6 Drivers’ Association, and KAPATIRAN Community Products.
City Mayor of Kabankalan Hon. Benjie M. Miranda, City Vice Mayor Hon. Divina Gracia S. Miranda, Extension and Community Services Director Dr. Jimmy O. Degillo (on behalf of CPSU President Dr. Aladino C. Moraca), the Commanding Officer of the 15th Infantry Batallion LT COL ELMAR SALVADOR, and the Commanding Officer of the 94th Infantry Batallion LT COL ZIEGFRED D TAYABAN, imparted messages throughout the occasion and highlighted the essence of the event.
PCMS MARY JUNE P FUENTES, Ms. Greace Agape Llamas, Mr. Kaiser R. Divinagracia, and Ms. Sandra G. Arellano also engaged with the attendees as resource speakers and discussed various peace-related and education relevant issues and concerns.
With OPAPRU as the spearheading body, the activity was organized in partnership with CPSU’s Research and Development Services (RDS), headed by Director Dr. Angelie Rose L. Lumba; the Extension and Community Services Office, led by Director Dr. Jimmy O. Degillo; and the Lions Club of Kabankalan, which provided various community services for the attendees.
