91 new beginnings sprouted as the Class of 2025 Pagsibol were officially declared as Academic Year 2024-2025 graduates during the 10th Commencement Exercises of Central Philippines State University (CPSU)- Candoni Campus held yesterday, June 11, 2025.
53 Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness and 38 Bachelor of Elementary Education graduands turned their tassels as graduates after Dr. Grenny I. Jungco, Vice President for Academic Affairs, on behalf of Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, University President, confirmed that they successfully finished their collegiate programs and earned their degrees.
The Campusโ Reserve Officersโ Training Corps (ROTC) unit kickstarted the ceremony with a snappy sword entrance, followed by the dignified procession of the graduands, parents, and guardians who walked solemnly with steps that carried years of sacrifice, patience, diligence, and perseverance.
Maโam Armie Shiela T. Calago, CPSU- Candoni Campus Administrator, welcomed the honored guests, partner agency representatives, CPSU key officials, as well as the proud parents and guardians in their 10th Commencement Exercises which shared the Universityโs graduation ceremoniesโ official theme: โLegacy of Wisdom, Celebrating Success: 75 Years Strong and Infinite Futures.โ
โIt is my distinct honor and privilege to welcome you all to Central Philippines State University-Candoni Campusโ 10th Commencement Exercises. Our theme reflects the universityโs 75 years of commitment to empowering students for success. Today we celebrate not just the completion of studies, but the launch of remarkable journeys,โ said Maโam Calago, Campus Administrator.
As a Cenphilian Alumnus himself, Dr. Patricio H. Estoya Jr., College President of Collegio De La Castellana, emboldened the graduates and workforce newcomers with his message as the ceremonyโs commencement speakerโreminding them of the power of prayer in their lives and encouraging them to honor their parents and guardians who supported them in their studies.
โBefore you, my dear graduates, stretches a vast and uncharted landscape brimming with possibilities as boundless as the sky above. This is not just an ending, but it is a glorious beginning. That tassel that you moved from right to left is not merely a symbolic gesture. It is the turning of a page, the closing of one chapter, and maybe the dramatic opening of another chapter of your lives. Youโve earned this momentโฆThe path ahead wonโt always be easy. Remember, there will always be moments of doubtโฆThese moments are testaments to your humanity. Dear graduates, embrace these moments,โ said Dr. Estova.
Two Cum Laude awardees and one Special Academic Award recipient were lauded in the ceremony; Latin distinction awardees, Ria L. Amar and Ed Jireh T. Nangca conveyed their respective words of gratitudeโcascading messages of thanks that resonated with their fellow graduates.
Municipality of Candoni Mayor, Hon. Engr. Ray R. Ruiz; CPSU Board Secretary V, Maโam Nelly S. Cabual; Office of Student Services Affairs (OSSA) Dean, Dr. Aubrey Ginelle P. Rallos; and CPSU Public Information Office Head, Dr. Freia L. Vargas, shared the joy of the occasion that was held at the Municipal Sports Center, Poblacion East, Candoni, Negros Occidental.
The graduating class carries the name โPagsibolโ which implies โsproutingโ or โnew beginningโ, and that reflects the graduatesโ emergence from years of learningโready to bloom, thrive, and make meaningful impacts to the world.
