Culminating at Siquijor State College (SSC), the 2025 Mid-Year Convention of Central Philippines State Universityโ€™s (CPSU) Non-Teaching Personnel Organization ended on a successful note with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing between SSC and CPSU.

Signed by SSC President, Dr. Steven J. Sumaylo, and CPSU Vice President for Administration and Finance (VPAF), Engr. Marc Alexei Caesar B. Badajos on behalf of CPSU President, Dr. Aladino C. Moraca, the MOU formalizes the partnership between the institutions in engaging with meaningful and impactful extension programs and services to the community.

The CPSU NTPO Mid-Year Convention was held in the province of Siquijor on May 14-16, 2025, aiming to nurture personnelโ€™s mental and physiological well-being through sports, further enhance civil servantsโ€™ understanding of gender and development, and bolster the NTPOโ€™s appreciation of local culture in the newly established Region 18.

โ€œIt reflects our shared belief in the power of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and transformative education. It is a concrete step towards building bridges across our institutions and across the Negros Island Region (NIR) as we pursue common goals and collective progress,โ€ said President Sumaylo, upon the MOU signing in his welcome address.

Present in the culminating activity are some of SSCโ€™s esteemed key officials and state college staff who warmly welcomed the CPSU NTPO.

โ€œThis Mid-Year Convention is certainly a learning experience. We are full of memories and happiness from the very welcoming accommodation. As we go back, we will bring these memories and establish a long-term engagement not only for fun but more importantly, for serving the community. The non-teaching personnel commit to support and to be part of the engagements that we will be having in the future. With that, we thank you and the people of Siquijor Island,โ€ said VPAF Badajos.

In addition, the resource speaker, Mr. Drandon D. Yusalan, addressed misinformation surrounding HIV in the HIV Awareness Talk, while Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) Head, Ms. Shenna Mae Z. Tanilon, encouraged the cultivation of desirable civil servant values in the values formation seminar, during the Gender and Development (GAD) Office-sponsored culminating activity, actively supported by GAD Director, Ms. Shirley Calugcugan.

Led by the NTPO President, Mr. Charlie Magne B. Coronel, the NTPO conferred a certificate to President Sumaylo who contributed to enrichment of the attendeesโ€™ learning experiences.

The convention also included Main Campus-based activities namely, the 2025 Summerfest, the joint NTPO and Philippine Red Cross Bacolod Chapter Feeding Program, and the Health Skill Training for Job Order personnel conducted by the City Health Office of Kabankalan.

The members of winning teams during the NTPO Summerfest 2025 were also recognized during the event, commending their active participation in the promotion of sports and wellness in the CPSU community.

The 2025 Mid-Year Convention is a testament to the university's dedication to foster personal and professional development among its non-teaching personnel, equipping them to have a continuously improving understanding of clientele needs and provide more inclusive and gender-sensitive services as a holistically healthier workforce.
