The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental conferred three 2024 Ecoluminaries Abanse Negrense Environmental Awards plaques to Central Philippines State University (CPSU) - Main Campus in recognition of its environment-friendly initiatives.

The university was hailed as the “𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭” for the Green School Excellence Award and “𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝟵𝟵% 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲” among schools implementing innovative and sustainable environmental practices.

In addition, the provincial government headed by Negros Occidental Governor, Hon. Eugenio Jose "Bong" V. Lacson, also conferred the “𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀” award to the institution.

It can be recalled that the university vied for the top notch recognition during the last EcoLuminaries evaluation held last October 24—showcasing its conservation initiatives for its local land reserve fauna and flora, garnering a 99 out of 100 score.

The plaques were conferred to CPSU in the awarding ceremony held at the Negros Residences Function Hall, Bacolod City, last December 19, 2024.

The Ecoluminaries, which signifies “𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀,” was established in 2021 and is the Abanse Negrense Environmental Awards—a prestigious recognition program honoring exceptional efforts in conservation, protection, and rehabilitation.

Last December 2023, CPSU also received the “𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿,” “𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿,” and the "𝗢𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻” awards in Ecoluminaries Environmental Awards—a testament to the university’s steadfast efforts in protecting the Philippines’ natural resources.
